The Mendoza Line is a good band that plays smart music labeled heartland rock or Americana or Alt-country or whatever. Truth is that they're criminally underappreciated despite putting out one of the best albums of 2004 in Fortune. Fortune was catchy, politically challenging and honest. A recipte for being ignored in this hipper than thou competition we currently call the music biz.
